Legal Load Detention Policy
Loading/Unloading Time Limits:
- 0-60 minutes: No detention charges.
- 61 minutes or more: $100.00 per hour, prorated in 15-minute increments.
Over-Dimensional (OD) Load Detention Policy
Loads Requiring Permits (10’ Wide/Tall or Less):
- $140.00 per hour, prorated in 15-minute increments.
Loads Over 10’ Wide/Tall (Up to 13’):
- $175.00 per hour, prorated in 15-minute increments.
Detention Charge Settlement
- All detention adjustments must be settled before the truck departs the shipper/consignee.
Settlement options:
- An adjusted rate confirmation issued onsite.
- Payment of detention charges via credit card (drivers are equipped to accept payments in the field).
Policy Applicability
- Detention schedule effective as of December 18, 2017.
- Applies to all loads accepted by R&M Delivery.
